I can’t wait to see Pearl Mackie in the role. As much as I adored Clara, I’m very much ready to love Bill too.
Seriously people, I’ve read a post in a Doctor Who’s brazilian page officializing Pearl’s hole as the new companion and there I saw the teaser where she MOCKS about the way the Daleks act and their looks, and I think most people of the fandom would have considered it extremely funny if the character who was doing it was not black.
I saw people saying that she was TOO ALIKE Freema Ageyman and that they could’ve put someone different(as in another white pretty girl with pretty hair and face, as if through all this FIFTY YEARS of TV show we hadn’t has enough of that.). And them I heard that people said that she was dumb because she was asking dumb kind of questions about the daleks(a.k.a something called Sarcasm) and so she would be boring and all that stuff blah blah blah…
Just, get better people—No, actually, get your minds more open to new and incredible things like Bill’s character.
PS.: and also, I wasn’t in the fandom in Freema’s era, so I song know about the way people reacted to her as the 10th doctor’s companion, but I must have been some sh*t like this. Or worse.

I’m really scared that some people are going to treat Bill the same way Martha was treated. Whouffaldi and 10/Rose both had large followings (myself included in Whouffaldi), and were both ended in sad ways,followed by a black girl being cast as the new companion. Martha was subjected to both racist comments and comparisons to Rose,both by fans and even by the Doctor himself (still really salty about that tbh),and I’m really scared that Bill will get this treatment too. Please don’t make the two main black girls on this show be looked back on as generally unpopular characters.

If regenerating is so common among Time Lords, imagine a parent picking their kid up from school and having a completely different looking kid run up to them followed by a teacher trying to explain they had an accident on the playground.
I’m gonna miss Clara Oswald until the day I die but I’d just like to say I already love Bill! Judging from the promo she seems like she’s gonna be a lot of fun. I’m excited to meet her and get to know her character!
